The Glass Jug

This is something interesting that I found in my garage. If anyone knows what it was used for let me know. It is solid glass and it weighs about 15 lbs.

It is an old dust collector for woodworking tools. The glass was used to stop the wood chippings from burning. The saws back then would heat up so much that they would tend to set the clippings on fire and cause problems. There should be a hose that would connect to the top of it. If you find it somewhere it would be a great collectors item. From what I have found it will usually be attached to a band saw. I found where the saw with the collector can be worth up to $1000

It might have been a little more believable if you didn't say it was for a band saw.
