Rifle season comes to an end...
With the water coming up 2-3 feet in some places on the deer lease it brought many deer up onto to high land. This past season was one of the most plentiful seasons that I have seen out there in Maringouin. I believe that every hunt this year, except for this past Saturday morning, I saw at least one deer. This is something that I was not use to after last season where we had a case of the nocturnal deer all year long. I might even be able to say that I saw just as many bucks as does. It really was a great year. I had a missed opportunity or two, but this weekend I made up for it by harvesting a doe. I look forward to getting some tasty meat from that one!
