Salvation Army

Everyone knows about sending off what you do not want to Goodwill or the Salvation Army. Every time we move, we clean things out and send them off. As they say "one man's trash, another's treasure". Well, not for the Salvation Army. You know that I have become an expert at the City Landfill here in Baker. Today was the second time that I saw a HUGE S.A. truck at the dump. They almost filled up a dumpster that is about 30 feet long, 8 feet tall. They were chunking everything from baby dolls to recliners.

This makes me think that those days where I seperate the trash pile from the Goodwill pile is nothing but a waste of time. I am sure that they are throwing this away because they do not have room for it in their warehouse or whatever they keep it in, but really is that why we donate? Should they be sending it overseas? Should we just be wasting away perfectly good stuff that we do not WANT for ourselves? Do you even think this is a problem?

Maybe you should write a letter to the salvation army and ask them. It's possible they aren't aware of the issue and if they are, maybe you'll get a better understand of why. Keep us posted.

Dude, you are so bored. You need to get a life. You are becoming a liberal. It is like your tithe. YOu give it to the church and do not worry about how they spend it because you placed it in gods hands. If the money is spent inappropraitely then god will deal with them. In the case of SA, AL GORE and his wife BILL CLITON will deal with them.

Jacque is delusional. If we left everything up to God's hands and not worry about anything, then we'd probably end up in some sort of war with a third-world country and trillions of dollars in debt...oh, wait.
I know that, personally, I would like my donations to go towards something meaningful and not end up in a landfill in Louisiana.
Now that I'm done with Jacque's fantasy world, there could be a number of reason's why the SA trashed those goods. Chances are that they just weren't in the proper condition to be donated to other people. You know...broken supports, torn cushions, whatever. Maybe it wasn't "perfectly good stuff". So I say that if it's enough of a concern to you, call them. Find out what their policy is. There's nothing wrong with inquiring.
