LSU Game Day 3.7

LSU 48 - Mississippi State 17

Amanda and I had a great time at the game. It is always good to see the gift that JaMarcus Russell has. I really have never seen someone that is so smooth with making a 50 yard pass. I can watch a good passing game all day long. What is funny about that is I really never liked football much before I came to LSU. College football seems so "REAL".

I still cannot watch an NFL game without thinking about how much money is being passed around. Someone is getting paid to "throw" games. But not in college, they just pay for players' families to live in the surrounding area. (Go USC)

Notice the man behind us who is smiling right at the camera. He was also smiling at the camera in two of our other pictures.

Amanda is enjoying her sausage poboy.

The rain is coming quick! Mom was right....I did not think that it was going to rain in Baton Rouge. It is a good thing that it NEVER rains in Tiger Stadium, otherwise we may have gotten wet. There was a lightning delay though.

The Golden Band from Tiger Land does their thing!

This was when JaMarcus noticed that I was waving to him. I do not have audio but he is saying "wait for me after the game Scott, we can go eat somewhere".

Once again...I send out a speical thanks to Uncle Gary for getting us these great seats for today's game.

LSU Game Day 2.3

The 4th touchdown for LSU in the LSU vs. MS 9/30/06

The picture is not good b/c I did not set the white balance on my little camera, but I wanted to post this anyway.

LSU Game Day 1.0

Boy do I have a great bunch on in-laws. These two beauties were given to Amanda and I for today's game. Amanda and I have not been to a game together since we played MS two years ago at an 11:30 game. She said that she was never going to go to that again. Well, here we are two years later and she is coming with me. She loves me so much. It will not be in the student section though. She really does not like going over there b/c you have to stand up the entire time.

Well I will let you know how it went later on today.

SPECAIL THANKS TO UNCLE GARY AND AUNT MOLEY!

Mathematics Overhaul

For the past 4 weeks now I have been looking at equations such as the ones above. For the past 4 weeks now I have been confused as much as a human brain can be confused. I have no idea what to do anymore. I have tried going to the profs office and he is NO help to me. He seems to think that I do not understand because of a weak background in advanced math (100% true), therefore it is not his responsibility to teach me what I do not know from the past. I knew that I could have gotten a better education at ULL. Ok, maybe it is not that bad!

So am I the stupid one here? I know that I could be doing more to understand the material (like hiring a personal tutor), but I really want to know something... I really and truely stayed up for hours last night trying to understand anything that I could. I JUST DON'T GET IT. I have never really worried about my pride when it comes to asking questions. I just ask away and if the prof thinks that I am stupid, then so be it. My concern here is that I believe that I should be able to go to his office hours at anytime and get all of the help I want, as long as it pertains to his class. The problem is I have been shut down each time. I am ready to go into his office and tell him he WILL help me or I am going to his boss or something. OR, I might want to do what Justin said he was going to do the that Ninja that was bothering him the other day (inside joke).

Should the prof be helping me in his class?

"Concentration" for $2000 Alex...

Does anyone have the key to concentration? I am having a little problem that I cannot seem to get over. When I do not understand something at all it is very hard to sit down and concentrate on what I am doing. Lucky for me I do not understand what is going on in my math class. With a test coming up this Friday I have a lot of material to learn.

I wanted to get a little bit of input from everyone on what they do to concentrate in the most difficult times. I am trying to get out of what usually works best for me. I usually dig a great big whole, when I see what I mess I am in I can all of a sudden see that I need to get to work! I really do not want to do that again this semester. I want to start STRONG.

Let me know what you think.

The Big Easy

This weekend Kristen and Shawn came in to see Amanda and I. Since they were in town they were also going to go to the Saints game tonight. I guess they wanted to get to New Orleans early, so we just met them in New Orleans on Sunday.

Kristen wanted to get a smoothie from Smoothie King so we did that first. Shawn wanted to be able to get a new hat from Black and Gold, unfortunatly they had about 100 people in that little tiny store, so he did not get a hat from there. Next order of business was Rasing Cane's.

Once Cane's was taken care of we headed to the French Quater.

While we were there we went to the french market....

we went to the Mall, where Kristen lost her leg....

Amanda kissed a whale....

and I hid in the big green leaves.

Our evening was finished of with some Italian Food from Giovanni's. For dessert we went to, where else, Café du Monde.

Thank you so much for coming to see us this weekend Kristen and Shawn. I hope that your side trip to the Saints game was fun!

How to pass time.

This past week I was fortunate enough to get my truck's windshield replaced (1 hr 15 min) and get my tires rotated and balanced (1 hr). S0 what do you do in this situation? It is easy, you go with someone else. That way you can leave your vehicle and go back at your own convience. Not me! I waited. I passed my time with a game called Tetris. I am sure that you have heard of it.

When I am able to play without interuptions I usually achieve high scores. I found out that once the game does not have room to keep your score anymore it stops at -9999. I also found out that once it cannot count the levels anymore it stops at -9. So, it will go to 99 then to 0,-1,-2.... You get the point. Well the only thing that keeps going is the lines. Every ten lines is one level. My highest score was achieved today. It was 2908 lines....Level 290. I was so proud of myself. You can also see the time on the game (00:10:20). That was actually 100 minutes + 100 minutes + 10 minutes 20 seconds. Pitiful, I know. I would not even let Amanda play on my game. I wanted the glory all to myself!

I want to thank Amanda for teaching me everything I know. And I also want to thank Santa Claus for giving my the game last Christmas!

"Summer Rains"

This was something that I thought was very cool to not just sit there and admire. It was raining this weekend and I went outside for a little break. The sun was just behind the trees in front of my apartment and I noticed how the water was gathering on the ends of the pine needles. So it made for a cool picture and I wanted to share it with you.

How about those Summer Rains? (pun intended...does anyone know why?)

Who has muscles?

I bet that you are wondering what this is. I will tell you what it is, it is a picture that was taken out of focus. It should show you an ant carrying off one of my finger nail clippings. I was taking care of business on the patio today when I notice a lot of ants walking off with my clippings. I do not know where they were going with them but they were taking them away. I was amazed with the strength that they have. I mean I know that they are strong but look at that! The clipping has to be at least 5 times his size. No telling what the weight difference is. I just could not believe that. Then I was in more amazement when I came home from class. ALL of my clippings were GONE. Not one was left on the patio. Wind did not do that. Those ants carried off every bit of it. Is'nt that cool?

Nature in my backyard - Taking Flight

My dove was born on the 8th or 9th of September and look he/she is already getting ready to take flight into the real world. I am going to miss him/her. Maybe I will still get another couple of babies this year.

Nature in my backyard.

This is my baby dove. He/she is from the third "batch" this summer. I think that I saw the dove make the nest some time in early July. It made the nest on my back porch at my apartment. It had two eggs. Then they grew up and one day that flew off for me to never see them again. It was not but three or four days later and the dove was back rebuilding the nest. I thought that it was done with the nest so I took it down (woops). It then had another two eggs. They hatched, they ate, the grew, they flew. Then, in like two days, the dove had layed another egg and here is that little birdy. Just incase anyone who is reading this is wondering if it is the same bird or not, yes it is. How do I know for sure? - I do not know for sure, but doves have multiple "litters". People have seen them have five sets of eggs all in a row, two at a time.

Yestuday I was able to witness something that I had not seen with the other two birds. The mom was feeding the baby. That was AWESOME. It was discovery channel right on my porch! There was something different about seeing it in person like that. It really was so special! When I walked out there the mom was looking at me wondering what I was doing. The baby had its wings spread out and it was literally jumping at the mom's mouth. Most likely saying "come on mom, I want some FOOD, HUNGRY!!!!" It was so funny to see that baby want some food. I left them alone for a second and went back out to witness the feeding. Very cool. I wanted to get a picture but I just got one with the baby standing up. Like I said, the mom would concentrate on me while I was out there, so getting one with the baby eating was nearly impossible.

I know what some of you are thinking. You think that I am waiting for this bird to get old enough for me to eat. Well you are wrong. This is the fifth baby the was born on that porch and I have not killed one yet. So HA, I am a good person.

Accident Prone?....I AM!

Sundays have not been good days for my health for two weeks now. Two Sundays ago I was hit on the head, causing my mouth to shut quickly, causing my teeth to crash together, causing my tooth to chip and loosen a bit. Luckily I remembered that I had insurance and that was taken care of. This past Sunday I was playing softball, within five minutes I twisted my ankle. Sure it hurt when I did it, but I kept playing the game. I was even running bases like crazy but the foot was'nt hurting. Then I went mow grass, it was'nt hurting much there either. As soon as I sat down for more than a minute my ankle started to look like I was hiding a baseball in there. Me being the cautious person that I am I went to the doctor. It is not broken! But it is still a bad sprain. I have to stay on crutches for at least a week. That really sucks too. Those things hurt! I went to Wal-mart, as you can see, and I really needed a chair to shop with but they did not have anything but that electric cart. I was not comfortable using that thing! I felt like everyone was looking at me like nothing was wrong with my leg, even though I had my crutches with me and my foot wrapped up. Oh, and you know those people that park in the handicap spots at school but they do not look handicap at all? Well, I am going to be one of those people soon. I know my ankle is bad, but I have a medical permit for two weeks at school. There is no way that I am going to let this ankle take two weeks to heal. Why is that a problem? They took my other parking pass and I cannot get it back until the other permit is expired! They are so worried about me using two permits or giving one to someone else.

I hope that accidents do not come all at once for any other people out there. I know that they do for me. Remember the two accidents around my wedding?

Claustrophobia?...not me!

If you are ever at your cousin's house and you have nothing to do b/c they do not have cable and none of the football games are on NBC, CBS, ABC, or FOX...you can always find things around the house to do. It may not be normal things but hey entertainment comes in all sizes and shapes, right? I mean its not like it does not include confined spaces. Some people would say thats it is impossible for Scott to fit in a dryer, but the tag said that you could wash 16 pair of jeans in there, I was sure I could fit in there!

This post was done in honor of the girl who fit in a small duffel bag in order to scared her friend. Is'nt it amazing what we do for fun Kelly?

LSU vs. Arizona (45-3)

It has been almost a year since my last LSU football game. The last game that I was at was the LSU vs. Auburn game on October 22, 2005 (does anyone know what that day is?) I went with my mom, it was really fun!

I went to the game tonight and it was so nice out there. The temperature was just right and the game was good. Not to mention the good seats that I was sitting in. It was really good to not be in the student section....let me explain. The student section is filled with vulgar comments one after another. It is not like I do not want to support my team over there, it is just really hard to put up with the few people who just wont be quiet and enjoy the game.

I know that there are people out there who heard me saying that I was not going to any more LSU football games b/c they raised the prices, but I lied. Since I enjoyed the game so much I think that I am going to continue to go.

So, Sean that sure was a close 1 point for TN. You better watch out.

Sorry I was not able to post a better picture. Amanda has the camera out of town this weekend so I could not get a good picture of me in there.

SPECIAL THANKS! - my in laws who took me to the game. Thank You for thinking about me at home all alone. Even though I was only there for parking protection ;-)

The hunt

This past weekend we (Amanda and I) went to Newellton, LA. That town is right off of Lake Bruin. We went up there with the Head family. I was very excited to be able to go over there and kill some doves. It was the opening of dove season and I was ready to HUNT. See a couple of years ago my grandfather gave me the best shotgun there is, a Browning Citori (Gold trigger). Its a double barrel 20 gauge! (you can see it in the above picture) The first and second time that I went with this gun I was a dove killing fool! It is all in the gun. So this year I was looking for a good third hunt with the gun. The first day was a little slow but man was the second day good. We had doves flying from all directions. I even had a double with one bird in front and then I turned around to the back and got the bird trying to sneek out the back door. That was a huge thing for me! Hunters would understand. Not to mention that I had Stanely right there asking me if I needed help finishing my limit, after those two shots he got the point that his presence was not needed on my end of the feild. There is just something about animals that I love!

I would like to send a special thanks to Kristen and Rusty for getting us a place to stay for the weekend. It would not have been possible without your help.

the best massage ever

This chair can be found in the Brookstone store.

I was in Lafayette this past weekend and I saw this monster of a chair. It looked like it could very well be the best chair to sit in, so I sat in it. For about 15 minutes I was making all kinds of faces while this chair put its "fingers" in every soar spot on my body. This thing even massaged my arms/hands. That was something else!

If you like to go and sit in chairs that you know that you can not afford (such as this $4,300.00 chair), you should go to Brookstone. Its worth a trip to the mall, even for a guy like me.

What's up with the media?

I do not normally watch much news at all. As most people in the entire world know, Steve Irwin is all over it right now. The tragic event has shocked people everywhere. Something that bothers me about all of this is the media. Since I was out in the middle of the cotton feilds when this happen, I have been watching some of the yesturdays news coverage on the internet. Just to see what happened out in the waters of the Batt Reef. I was not really impressed with what I was seeing.

I never really liked watching the local news since it is always talking about who stole what, who shot who, and who was going to jail.... You get the point. So me watching the news is rare.
Back to why I was not impressed with the media covering Steve Irwin's death. The few channels that I was watching were showing people talking to his closest friends and other animal conservationist. The only questions that I was hearing were "Do you think Steve was too careless with wild animals?" "Do you think he was getting to close?" I do not understand why someone would go out and question something like that. This man was an icon to many people throughout the world for teaching about animals. He was incredible to watch because of he vast knowledge of wildlife. But leave it to the media to try and indirectly say "he had it coming to him, he was stupid with animals". I even saw some news channels that went back to 2 years ago when he was feeding crocs with his son (Bob) in his arms. That has nothing to do with filming a documentary on ocean life, so why bring it up again? Oh yeah...it gives ratings. I say the man was wonderful to watch, I can only hope that I have his enthusiasm in my career.

Shame on the news for turning a tragic event into an investigation on Steve Irwin's intelligence and his choices in life.

United States Postal Service

I wanted for my first post to be something cool, so I chose to show off my incredible stamps. I got these stamps from the post office (obviously) by simply asking to see all of their "cool" stamps. I was so impressed with the variety that is out there. It really makes me want to start sending letters to all of my friends since I have the coolest stamps ever now.

Well I hope that there are other DC Comic fans out there that are going to like seeing this.

Also, since this is my first post I should probably mention that if you know someone that would want to look at my blog page go ahead and pass the address on.
