Thankful

Sometimes I have to wonder if my friends and family really know how much I appreciate all of the things that are done for me.

This blog goes out to all of my friends and family.

I have such a wonderful bunch of people in my life. I really feel like there will never be a time in my life that I will be alone. No matter how far or how close I live to people I am constantly in contact with them. There are so many things in this world that allow us to call someone, drive to see people, fly to see people, or just write back and forth through the internet. I love that. Every day I am realizing how special it is to have that in my life. How lucky am I to get along with my brothers and stay in touch with them? How lucky am I to have parents that I can still go hang out with and ride in the car for 8 hours in a day and never run out of things to talk about? How lucky am I to have friends that have been with me since the fourth grade? I thought that everyone had a friend to pressure them into a first kiss on the back of a bus. I thought that everyone had a friend with toilet paper, mud, and swimming pools. Why wouldn't the youngest brother get slammed with bags of syrup? Isn't it a written rule that the youngest brother has to eat/drink any concoction made up by the older siblings? I never thought that I would say this when I was a kid, but there is no doubt that I have the best parents that anyone can have. I am guessing that when parents prepare you for every up and down in life and you come out of them with you head right side up, that means that they are doing a good job. Of course that comes with a strong hold on life through Christ. I have even been blessed with great friends from out of the country. I have some cool people on the west coast of Canada (British Columbia) and some cool people on the east coast Canada (Nova Scotia) and we wont forget about the people right there in the middle (Saskatchewan). I was actually able to spend five summers in Canada. Some times were spent just hanging out and others were spent studying French with some pretty cool people. If I am looking south, I can talk about my pals in Mexico. They have some really cool people down there too! I just have friends everywhere. Oh, I even have friends all of the way in Nepal. They are from here, but hey, they are all the way in Nepal right now. Cool stuff.

Some people have a favorite time in their life. Me...I can't really say that I do have a favorite time. I grew up living on about 15 acres, that was awesome. I got to act like I had an identical twin brother (even thought he is 2 years older), that was awesome. Elementary school was pretty fun, in the second grade I threw out my books so Beau could teach me everything important in life (long story). The fourth grade, maybe that was my favorite time....after all I did go through it twice. Middle school, I spent three years proving to ever single "cool" person that I didn't really care what they thought about me. High school, wow, those were some good years. Ice Gator games, school dances, tutoring from a 4.0 LSU student, Adrien's (getting karate kicked in the parking lot), driving the mud machine (Toyota Corolla), school dances, all of the girls that I never dated, ice skating at the hockey plex, and on and on and on..... College!!! Now that was fun stuff. I met some crazy people over there. LSU introduced me to some funny people from places like Pineville, New Orleans, Lake Charles, Baton Rouge, and maybe a couple of out-a-state people. I even had the chance to work with the middle school students at EBBC. That was really cool stuff there. I am still meeting great people who work there. I even go help out every now and then with there trips over here to the Celebration Station. I don't think that there was ever a dull moment in dorm life. Actually I don't think that there was ever a dull moment in college. Except for when everyone graduated and I was still in grad school and I had to meet more people. That got boring (for a couple of days). Somewhere in between the important things going on in college I got married. I think that would have to be the best time of my life (I am supposed to say that right?). Nothing like being married. I tell you, I was missing out living with a bunch of guys all of my life. I just LOVE living with a woman! See my point though? I just listed all of the "stages" in life and I really cannot decide which was the best part.

Point being....I am a very lucky person to have so many family and friends that just love me so much. Thanks for being there with me.

FRIENDS ARE AWESOME. If you are one of the people reading through this entire post, that most likely means that you are one of those great friends of mine so again, THANKS.

Ocean's 40 Trailer

Sean recently made a post about these videos. They are from http://howitshouldhaveended.com/.

Check it out, they have some really funny stuff on there.

'Catching' Trip

My cousin reminded a while back that fishing isn't always easy. He went red fishing and started off quick with two red fish in the boat, only it didn't last. The fish quit biting and they went home with two fish.

That was not the case this past Friday. I took off of work to go fishing with Justin, PawPaw Chester, and Shawn. We went looking for some of those speckled trout. It started off kind of slow but quickly picked up once we hit a good spot. In the morning we caught 33 and in the afternoon we caught another 21, for a total of 54 fish! It was a lot of fun. Some people were having trouble with catching fish. Just about every time I turned around someone was switching their bait, looking for the perfect one. I, on the other hand, was hooked up with the perfect bait from the start (thanks to pawpaw). I used the same exact lure for the entire day. For some reason the fish really liked it. Even when other people started fishing with the same kind of lure, it just wasn't doing as well as mine. On my 24th fish my bait started to fall apart. I was able to get it back together and get one last fish.

Thanks for a great time guys. As PawPaw said "every dog has their day".

Again, I am sorry to not have any pictures to record this wonderful moment but I still don't have a camera.

State of the Union

I was watching the State of the Union that night. I was very surprised to see a couple of things that night. There were interesting subjects on the table, but the most interesting thing had to do with the peoples reactions. I understand that the room is divided into Donkeys and Elephants. My problem was that these people dont seem to have a mind of their own. When certain topics were brought up sometimes there was a standing ovation throughout the entire room, other times is was divided straight down the middle. For the times that it was divided straight down the middle, you can't tell me that not one person on that side of the room didn't agree with what was being said. That just tells me that we have people running this country that dont have a mind of their own. They can only do things that Elephants or Donkeys do. There is no middle ground. It was very disappointing to see that.

I guess that I still have a lot to learn about politics.
