Juliette's First Christmas

Juliette had a great 1st Christmas. Amanda and I waited for her to wake up on Christmas morning and then we all got up. Juliette had some presents from MawMaw Kitty and MiMi JC.

This picture is most likely my favorite from the day. JC gave Juliette her first Cabbage Patch doll. Amanda still has hers from when she was a baby. I had CP doll too! I had one that was a football player and one that was an astronaut. I haven't gone into my parents attic to track it down yet, but I think that I still have mine.

Great day... Always good to remember the God gave his only son to come here to Earth to save us from sin.

Mexico 2010

We started off our new year in Mexico. Actually I spent my new year's morning with Carlos and we went cull/management buck hunting. It was a great time. I ended up shooting a buck that they had been wanting to harvest for a while. So its always good to be a helper out there. My favorite part about the Mexico trip was bow hunting. I was sitting in pop-up blinds with my camera and tripod. I was told that I should harvest all of the female lettuce that came by me. I shot 3 lettuce, but only retrieved 1. :-( I absolutely cannot stand it when I lose a deer. I learned that one of the bad things about hunting on the ground is that it takes a while for a deer to start bleeding a lot (arrow is not shot at a downward angle) so following a blood trail is not the easiest thing.

Juliette came with us this year. It was a first out at El Gato. She pretty much held the attention of everyone over there. Tina was such a HUGE help for Amanda. She was always willing and ready to do whatever. So thank you very much for that Tina.

I think, not quite sure, but I think that Kristen has a new found joy in babies. Juliette was able to prove to her that babies can be fun. I think that her being quite for the 10 hour drive down there had something to do with it.

One of the things that was different this year was an extra friend came. Shawn was able to take off of work and come down. I was very glad about that. We had a lot of fun with him being there. He should go during Christmas break more often.

My favorite meal of the trip: New Year's Eve!!!! WOW WOW WOW, that was soooo goooood. We had all of the traditional American fixin's. I don't even want to talk about how good it was anymore because I am going to get sad thinking about it. (And hungry)

Amazing hunter of the year...not me. Cleon. Really nice guy. He spotted a really nice buck that he wanted to shoot. So he hunted it for 3 days before he got him. And that's not morning hunt/evening hunt...no he stayed out all day long with a sandwich for lunch. He hunted and hunted hard. Came out with a DOUBLE main beam on each side (4 main beams). Nice 10 pt frame that scored in the 180's.

Thank you very much Baker family for having us over there! We enjoyed it.
