Silly Cats

Amanda has been taking care of the cats in the back yard. Yes, I said CATS not CAT. We noticed a while back that the cat was pregnant and then one day it wasn't. We waited over a month to see kittens but it wasn't until this past weekend that I stumbled upon them. There are six kittens. Hopefully they all survive. Amanda started feeding them as well as the mom so I am pretty sure that they are not going to be hunters like their (wild) mother is. They are going to be dependent on cat food and they will die when Amanda cannot feed them anymore. But she isn't worried about that. She just wants to feed them, no matter the outcome.

Is she sticking her tongue out?

Click on the image to enlarge. I think that the deer know that I am watching them so she stuck out her tounge. Hum...who is going to get to last laugh?

Mario Kart (for the Wii)

This week I bought Mario Kart for the Wii. I would have to say that so far I am giving it two thumbs up!

Let me know if you want to race against me.

Eventful Weekend

Hey fellow readers. I had a pretty eventful weekend. You can read about it in the next four post.

First Kill!

I have been waiting for a long time to be able to kill something in my yard. I have been having some armadillo problems. They are putting their annoying little noses all over my yard. Tonight I went outside to check on the fire and I was startled by something moving around in the bushes. I looked around and found the armadillo moving around in there. My first thought was to go get my pellet gun, so I ran inside to get it. Then I realized that I didn't have any pellets. So I grabbed my bow! I had an old aluminum arrow at the back door. No broad head, but who needs them? So I went out on the hunt. I found the armadillo in the same spot as before. I drew back and shot. It was a clean hit. He died within seconds. That is the first animal that I have killed with my bow. I was very happy that it was for a good reason (it was ruining my yard).

It went right through the heart. Am I that good of a shot at night with a head lamp? - NOPE, I just got luck to hit it right there. I was aiming to hit and that was all.

If you have a problem with the following pictures, refer to page warning.

How do you like that hunting outfit!

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?

Another AMAZING picture taken from the trail camera in my back yard. I think that he was curious about the camera.

In the past four nights my camera took 58 pictures of deer.

King Snake(s)

Today Paul and I were walking in my back yard when we stumbled upon a very large snake with a FULL belly. I was trying to figure out where it's head was when I realized why I was confused. It was a King snake eating another King snake. I have a picture below. You can kind of see the marking on the snake. Tell me if I am wrong, but I do believe that is a King snake.

It was really cool to see that. Unfortunately we made the snake nervous and it "lost" it's lunch. The really weird thing is that the snake had about 3/4 of the other snake eaten. Well when the snake "lost" it's lunch the other snake was still MOVING. Yeah, that's right. It was actually still moving around. I don't know how it stayed alive in the belly. I don't understand it, I just accept it. I hope that the other snake went back later on to eat it's prey (again).
This is the snake that was eating the other snake. Notice how big around it is.
The unlucky one.

Lonely Fire Pile

The lonely fire pile is not so lonely anymore. This weekend I was finally at home with no obligations. I was about to wake up to a nice thunderstorm that assured me that I was not going to be doing any grass cutting. That doesn't mean that I can cut trees though! Chris has been asking me to help cut a tree in his front yard for quite some time now. We finally made time to do it. I was hoping to do it on a dry day so we could have tractor man power. But that ended up working out just fine. We had Lil' Red man power. The little Honda 300 carried the trailer around.

Here are some pictures of the first fire that I have had in a while. It kind of makes me wonder why I would ever want to move to the city.
