Memories

Five years ago today I went on a double date (the first date) with my wife. I had only met her once before on the streets of the ULL campus. She had a gift for me on our first date. It was a cooler filled with all of my favorite candy. We went to an Italian restaurant on the corner of Johnston and Ambassador Caffrey called Baileys. We shared an appetiser for our entire meal. I did not know this till later but she was starving after the meal. She did not want to order anything of her own because she knew that I was cheap. Like I would not spend money on a first date, I might be cheap for the second but not the first. Oh well, here I am five years later married to her.

Somehow I feel like there's a good bit missing from this brief flashback.

For instance, how is it that she already knew what your favorite candy was? I mean, you only ran into her once before. Is your wife psychic? And if she is, why did she continue to associate with a cheap bastard?

Yes, yes, I'm sure Amanda will pop in here with her crystal ball, rub it profusely, and proclaim that she foresaw how much of a gentlemen Scott would be. Sure wasn't the restaurant that sealed the deal...

Oh yeah, happy anniversary!

Hmph. That explanation isn't as captivating as having your wife as a potential palm reader. Oh well, I can't have it all.

Sorry Jason my skills for telling the future are only limited to a few seconds and it only applies to me. The candy gift was just a way to impress him-which worked. I had never done that before on a first date-but I knew Scott was special...I didn't realize at the time how "special" Scott really is;)ha ha...
